Woran denkt ihr bei Strick? An Stricknadeln und bullernde Ofen? An Oma und die Wollsocken? Oder an heiße Nächte, nicht mit den Wollsocken…..räusper. Also, Strick zieht ja erstmal selten einen toten Hering vom Teller. Was machen wir, wenn dann auch noch eine Culottes dabei herauskommt? Strickculottes sozusagen?
Also, damit wir uns richtig verstehen. Mein Ziel hier war nicht, ein erotisches Outfit zu stylen, so dass ich bei uns in Frankfurt das Bahnhofsviertel damit unsicher machen könnte. Ich wollte mich darüber mit euch unterhalten.
What are your associations when it comes to knit wear? Knitting needles in front of a flickering fire place? Granny and the woollen socks? Or hot nights, without the woolen, you know…;-) Well, knit wear does not really scream in your face now, does it? But what to do about knitted culottes? Just for the record: I did not try to put together an erotic outfit here. I just wanted to discuss the issue with you.
VORSTELLUNG NEUE BLOGSERIE

CULOTTES: WAS GEHT UND WAS NICHT?
Wie ihr wisst, habe ich mich lange mit diesen Beinkleidern schwer getan.
-> Dann kam die Liebe und die richtige zu mir. In Blau, mit weichem, wogendem Stoff. Ideal für beginnende Frühlings- und Sommertage.
Zwischen mir und der weichen, blauen Culottes liefs rund. So fasste ich Mut, mir ein Herz und öffnete vor allem das Portemonnaie für ein richtiges Wintermodell mit Buntfalten und Tweedstoff.
Auch wenn ich in den 70ern gerade mal eingeschult wurde und komische Rollis in rostbraun in der ersten Klasse trug, so erinnere ich mich doch sehr gern an zwei Elemente: einen geliebten blauen Strickanzug und an jedes Kleidungsstück, das irgendwie glänzte. Ergo: griff ich kürzlich nach diesem Paar beigefarbener Lackstiefeln mit Blockabsatz. Tragen sich super!
What to wear with culottes and what to avoid?
It took me quite some time to get used to them but suddenly last summer I found the perfect pair. And then another one and then one thing let to the next….I can see you got me, right? 😉
And while I was just starting elementary school back in the 70s wearing weird, auburn turtlenecks, I also remember a much loved blue knitted overall and every single shiny piece of clothing I owned. Thus: I bought a pair of patent leather beige boots with block heels the other day. They are so comfortable.
WAS GEHT NICHT ZU STRICK?
Strickkleidung mag ich, aber Pulli und Hose sind hier eher schmaler geschnitten, tragen also wegen des Materials SEHR schnell auf.
Um das zu vermeiden, habe ich die Hose eine Nummer größer bestellt. Dadurch fällt sie lockerer. Nun habe ein Outfit, mit dem ich den Kuschelfaktor auf die Straße bringe und mich doch angezogen fühle.
Notiz an Kleinhirn: -> UM AUFTRAGEN ZU VERMEIDEN, LIEBER EINE NUMMER GRÖßER KAUFEN.
What works with knitwear? I love it but sweaters and pants tend to be very strait cut. The soft material is rather figure hugging. To avoid that I just ordered a larger size. Now I got a cosy and comfortable yet chic streetstyle for everyday. Note to mind: -> To avoid unflattering tightness, pick a larger size.
WAS GEHT NICHT ZU CULOTTES?
Culottes verkürzen die Beine. Das ist kein Verbrechen, aber auch nicht so liebenswert. Culottes und durchgehende, flache Sohlen wie Turnschuhe oder die angesagten “Klumpschuhe” (gesehen auf Instagram) sind für mich also kein “match made in heaven”. Eher zum Davonlaufen.
Was mir noch nicht daran gefällt? Die Kombination aus Folklorebluse mit dem japanischen Flair der Hose. Daran ist nichts Feminines, trotz freier Schultern. Aber, was meint ihr?
What NOT to wear with Culottes? They shorten the legs in an unflattering way. Period. So flats and sneakers and those trendy whatchamacallits with really thick soles will just not do the trick IMO. See link to Insta for an example. I also do not like to style these clean, Japanese pants with boho-blouses. Not a match-made-in-heaven, if you ask me. Its does not ooze anything feminine despite the off-shoulder blouse. What do you think?

SIND MONTAGE EINE BELEIDIGUNG?
Montage sind doch eine persönliche Beleidigung, obwohl mir zu Ohren gekommen ist, dass einige von Euch Montage doch wirklich MÖGEN 😉 Auf Insta bin ich stattdessen mit einige von Euch davon gesegelt.
Leider war nicht jede von uns seetüchtig, es ist zu vermuten, dass vor allem Frau Vivaldi und ich relativ schnell über der Reling hingen. Während MyLadydeWinter und Moppi sich ums Bötsche kümmern mussten…wie man in Hessen so sagt. An einem bleibt wirklich immer alles hängen…tststtss….

Wir haben schon oft darüber gesprochen, dass Bloggen Ü40 und Ü50 anders ist als mit zwanzig. Natürlich. Die Vielfalt und der Reichtum, den Frauen jenseits der dreißig zu bieten haben; das will die Blogreihe sichtbar machen. What is “Between the Lines” about?
The series runs every Tuesday for ten weeks. I am grateful to be part of it. Us over 40, over 50 have been discussing the issue of blogging for some time now. Age really matters. Displaying the diversity and beauty of women at our age is what this series is all about. So make sure to visit some new bloggers and make new friends!
