Interview | Stilberaterin Carine Landau

image-consulting-frankfurt-stylist-Carine-landau-oceanblue-style.jpg

01. You have five minutes to get dressed – what do you grab?

I recommend spending no more than 5 minutes getting ready.
Your power look is the one you know you will feel great in.

Your look is that support and shining from your eyes to your posture.

  • I would suggest adding your signature as an accessory that you would carry with you wherever you go, from everyday life to the stage.

Remember: The right outfit, your gestures and body language will allow you to shine!

02. Why do you love pink?

Welcome to my interpretation of the French flag!

I created my company around key values and messages: to highlight the personality of my guests, to make them vibrant, daring and empowered.

I have chosen to use bold colours fitting to my personality. I also based my brand on my background, knowledge and culture. I am French and I wanted to give Ladies & Gentlemen worldwide simple tools to look fresh, confident and to feel great in their skin.

The French flag is blue-white-red. I made it mine with blue-white-pink.

  • Pink is actually the derivative of red with white added. It is a positive colour with many nuances.

  • Red represents passion, joy. Somehow it took up too much space. I chose something really playful and dynamic to accompany me in my busy everyday life and bring joy to my clients.

  • Blue is the most popular colour in Europe for both women and men. It is a conservative colour that fills the codes with its rigor and is present in many areas from banks to consulting with serious concerns. Blue is also available in a lighter version as a dreamy colour with serenity, because when you look up to the sky you can dream…

The fact is: when you come to me, you can and should dream about your next step.

  • White is purity, a new field of possibilities opening up before us. On a white paper we can write a new page. Anything is possible!
These are, of course, my own colours and I am happy to recommend yours. You know how much I love all colours, dear Sabina! We should definitely add some pep to our lives!

03. What are your wardrobe essentials that make it easy to get dressed but still look up-to-date?

  • I love dresses. One piece, really practical, the dress is a protection against the world.
It does not need to be adjusted and gives you complete freedom of movement.
  • A dark pair of trousers and
  • a white shirt
Both are basics that you can play with endlessly, both in autumn and in summer.
  • The blazer is suitable for many occasions. I combine it with my jeans and it gives my skirt, dress or trousers a certain sovereignty.
The blazer goes with everything! I always wear it in my favourite colours: pink and blue, without forgetting black, which is ideal to calm down a look from time to time.
  • Ballerinas so that I can run from one meeting to the next, and I plan to wear stilettos to be stylish and powerful when I arrive at my appointment.
  • A leather jacket is very trendy to keep you warm.
  • For autumn, I would recommend a trench coat in a warm wool or a wool coat that fits your figure in a pleasant colour.

04. Your high heel workshops are incredibly successful – why do women decide to book your class?

Investing in yourself is a long-term investment that never goes out of date.

I like to give what I would want for myself.

This level of experience aims to empower my guests as the stars they are, waiting to rock their sky!

The concept is to offer a time to pamper oneself. Everyone misses this time and does not dare to take a few hours for oneself.

My guests allow themselves this time because it’s about growing personally and professionally. It is a time between training and networking. It is a time for oneself, while gaining new knowledge and new friends or partners.
It is important to me that everyone has a match with at least one person in the room.

My advice is to come “as you are”.

My guests learn techniques to accept themselves as they are – incredible – to dare to look at themselves, to finally find positive sides and strengths.

This time is a rendezvous with oneself and with great personalities.

Best styling advice coming from a French stylist

Love yourself! Love life! Love your destiny… and choose the right one!
Life is precious and should be seen as a gift. I would love to see everyone embracing who they really are, embodying their true self! If you dare, anything is possible!

05. You are a mother of a young boy, how do you manage to look so put together all the time, is that a thing they teach you at school in France?

I need practical routines to make it work and last, for my day and for my life. If it’s too complicated, I can’t do it in the long run. I apply this reality, experienced from my guests, obviously to myself.
  • I know how to enhance my assets.
  • I have the perfect outfit, where everything goes with everything else.
  • I have the red thread that makes everything logical, simple and fitting to me and my personality.
I have been taught rules, codes and have been able to see the inspiration in my own family. My grandmothers in particular were very chic, pampered and emblematic. My mother made it as simple as possible. I think I have found an in-between vision.

I know myself, my day, my expectations and I adapt my look and my attitude to that. I am totally imperfect. I know that. Here I am!

06. Do women over 40 really still need to be empowered?

They are empowered! More or less. They are incredible… but have not known it yet or forgotten about it.

They know what they want: a new job, a new partner in crime, new freedom, new perspectives and, finally, accomplishment and success.

They have full of possibilities to reach.

My clients are business leaders, aged over 40, with great will and potential. They are very demanding. They are intransigent. They know what they have given to others, from family to friends to business.

They now want to take control of their lives and make their projects a success.

40 is an incredible age where anything is possible!

Together we make the magic happen because if you can dream it, you can do it!

I put myself in their shoes and together we achieve that vision and put all the tools in place to get there. My clients want to celebrate life. They are wiser and have the responsibility to make the right choices. They are right. We all have one life to live.

An all das, was in ihnen steckt. An ihre Freiheit, ihre Träume, ihren ganz eigenen Weg. Danke dafür 🙂
